Why are we so afraid of it (you and I)?
Afraid of noise(less)ness.
Why is it that when quiet seeps into the porous spaces between us
We assassinate it with a clatter of hollowed out words?
Have you ever wondered what silence might actually be
If only allowed to breathe for a moment,
Or maybe two?
Maybe it’s the soundless sound of two souls singing.
A chorus of sacred nothingness.
A silence that echoes on and on (and on)
In the hallways of your heart.
Of my heart.
Of our heart.
Will you be silent with me a while?
We can be explorers in these forests of audio emptiness.
(I’ll hold your hand if I am afraid.)
And we can discover what wonders are hidden in quietness
Because we will be brave enough to say ( ).
